Box Assignment:Engine 108, 106, 103, 428, Truck 106, Rescue 104, Medic 106, Battalion 112, FM 114 and EMS 112
Special Call: Engine 102, 101, Truck 104

At 0400, Rescue 104 and Battalion 112 were dispatched as part of the box assignment for a deck on fire with fire coming into the house at 5436 22nd Street North. When Engine 108 arrived on scene, Captain Carter reported heavy fire on side Charlie of the structure. Engine 108 stretched their 200' line around to side Charlie to knock down the fire on the exterior of the structure. Rescue 104 got on scene, and split into two crews to do a primary search of the first floor and basement. This was Probie Zepeda's first fire. (great timing since he'd done some heavy search and rescue drilling hours earlier) Their search truned up negative as all occupants had evacuated the structure. Engine 103 took a line of their rig, and made an interior attack on the fire that was quickly spreading to the inside of the structure. Engine 106, took the 300' from Engine 108, located the drop down stairs for the attic, and made a stop on the fire making a run up there. Truck 106 took care of initial ventilation and opening up. Truck 104 was part of a special call later on in the incident to assist with additional ventilation and overhaul. Units started clearing the scene around 0530.
