Station 4 is located in the heart of Arlington County in Clarendon. The station is one of the oldest
in the county. It backs up to 1020 Hudson Street, which used to be the fire department headquartes, and
still houses the Fire Marshals' office, North Side Battalion Chief's office, as well as our FRMS and Recruiting
teams.
The station has a 4 bay garage that houses Rescue 104, Tower 104, Medic 104, the North Side Battalion Chief, and
Fire Marshal 114 who runs out the back bay door.
The living quarters contain a recently renovated kitchen
and crew day room/dining area. The day room is where the crews
eat and train. The room is decorated with numerous pictures
of past and present apparatus and action photos as well as
plenty of memorabilia.
The front of the building is where the Battalion Chief, Fire Marshal, and station officers bunkrooms are. Each bunkroom
is equipped with a small box that is part of the WestNet dispatch system. The boxes allow the occupant to set the box so
lights and dispatch audio are activated only when their unit is dipatched. There is also an office in the front of the building
where station records, reference materials, and computers are kept.
The firefighter and paramedic bunk rooms are in a hallway in the rear of the station. Each firefighter has their own little room. These bunk rooms are equipped the same as
officers bunk rooms in the front.
The next hallway over from the bunk rooms has lockers for firefighters to store their uniforms in. Station 4, like the other stations
in the county is equipped with a washer and dryer. This allows firefighters to avoid taking on-the-job contaminates home to their families,
by making it possible for them to wash their uniforms at the station.
